Get Educated

Welcome to Get Educated! Here you can find everything necessary to help you expand and develop your DSDM Agile knowledge.

The DSDM Consortium provides certification of individuals and accreditation of training courses.

The aim of personal certification is two-fold:

  • To allow individuals to demonstrate their ability and have their competence assessed by others who are knowledgeable and experienced in this area.
  • To provide an organisation with an independent measure of a person’s knowledge and ability.
  • Typical examples of how this may be used: By an individual’s manager, as part of staff Personal Development By a potential employer. (This is particularly valuable where an employer is not an expert in the area, and therefore some form of independent assessment and validation is needed.)

The aim of course accreditation is to ensure that when someone attends a DSDM training course, the material and message of that course is correct, accurate and aligned with current thinking.

DSDM Accredited Training

All DSDM accredited training is delivered by certified DSDM Coach-Trainers, who have practical hands-on experience of working on DSDM / Agile projects, as well as in-depth knowledge of DSDM. This ensures DSDM training brings the handbook to life, focusing on DSDM applied to real life project experience.

If you are unsure, please contact the DSDM Consortium at info@dsdm.org to confirm that you are being offered Accredited Training.

Agile Project Management (AgilePM®) launched in October 2010, extracts the Project Management elements of DSDM Atern and makes them available as Agile Project Management – a certified approach in its own right. This enables experienced Project Managers to adopt a mature, scalable corporate-strength Agile approach within their organisations. This is fully supported by an APMG-led accreditation and certification process, providing accredited training and personal certification in Agile Project Management.

Although AgilePM can be viewed as a subset of DSDM Atern, there are some extra features in AgilePM that are not currently available in Atern. These include Top Tips for Agile Project Managers at the conclusion of most chapters. These Top Tips have been collected from the in-depth practical experience of professional individuals who have managed and delivered Agile projects for many years. These are practitioners who work across a wide range of backgrounds, from small simple projects to large complex projects including regulated environments where they need to work in conjunction with other methods and approaches such as Prince2, ITIL, CMMI, ISO etc.. Access to this experience through the Top Tips has proved to be invaluable and will help the Agile Project Manager to avoid pitfalls and prepare for success.
