London, 10th and 11th October 2012

The Agile Business Conference is a major, two-day annual event held in London, providing a single forum for everyone interested in the effective application of Agile across the Public and Private Sectors.

In 2012 we invite you to join us and to celebrate the Tenth Anniversary of the ABC. Throughout the decade we have continually evolved and adapted to provide a unique forum for business, management and technical personnel to learn, share knowledge, network and source Agile Services.

And so our theme this year reflects the First Agile Decade; the maturity, evolution and reality of Agile as the de-facto standard for the management, development and delivery of Projects, Programmes and Products in the 21st Century, in the Public and Private Sectors.

26 March 2012

The UK’s two most prominent providers of UK Agile Events have announced a partnership to work together to deliver Europe’s Premier Agile Conference on 10-11 October this year, and also to present a series of regional Agile Conferences around the UK – starting in April with the Agile Conference Westminster, for Government and Public Sector.

The DSDM Consortium [ www.dsdm.org ] has organised the Agile Business Conference for the last decade and have signed a partnership agreement with UNICOM [ www.unicom.co.uk ] one of the world’s longest-established conference organisers.

The Agile Business Conference [ www.agileconference.org ] in its 10th year has established itself as the UK’s largest Agile Conference. UNICOM also organises numerous Agile events and forums, including the annual Agile and Lean in Public and Finance Sector Forums each September.

These organisations are now working in collaboration to focus on building the Agile Business Conference and to evolve this annual event to meet the expanding needs and interests of the Agile Community. The intention is to make the ABC broader than before, combining the Agile forums and this year featuring tracks specifically focusing on the Public and Finance Sectors.

Throughout the year DSDM and UNICOM have also planned regional Agile Conferences each focusing on different aspects of Agile and for different business sectors – locations scheduled include London (Westminster and Canary Wharf), Bristol and Newcastle.

“We are very excited about working with DSDM – our organisations have a long history of collaboration on smaller events supporting each other’s activities and by working together to build the definitive Agile Conference and providing a series of high profile regional events will further raise awareness of Agile in general and provide a platform for spreading knowledge of best practices, trends directions and new initiatives”, says Alec McCutcheon, Director of UNICOM

Mary Henson, Chief Executive of DSDM says: “Since we launched the Agile Business Conference 10 years ago, the evolution, maturity and acceptance of Agile has been nothing short of meteoric; we see our role being to help organisations to introduce and expand Agile Project Governance and Delivery and to share the wealth of experience and best-practice that has been accumulated. By working with UNICOM we can help impart this expertise to an even wider audience.”

The successful implementation of DSDM Atern at Infonic AG in Switzerland improved software delivery beyond expectations. However, it was in leveraging the framework that provided even greater results. This enabled Infonic to address typical estimation issues and eliminate Technical Debt. Together, these allowed the teams to focus on one job at a time and the business to extract even more productivity from scarce, highly qualified and experienced resources. The cumulative results included measurably improved software quality and demonstrably improved teamwork and inter-teamwork – and so provided the basis for enabling successful innovation whilst all being done in an environment of fun.
