The Experienced Route

This route is open to those who have at least two years practical project experience in a system development role, such as analyst/programmer, analyst, designer, consultant, project manager etc. or as an IT Aware user, with practical experience of system development. At least 12 months of this must be practical DSDM/agile project experience. If the candidate has not used the DSDM approach on agile projects, s/he is strongly recommended to attend a DSDM training course with an Accredited DSDM Training Organisation. Candidates may also consider taking the DSDM Foundation examination, to check that they have the correct understanding of DSDM theory.
Prior to submission of the application, the candidate should have gained a minimum of 12 months practical experience on DSDM/agile projects. If DSDM was used on the project(s), this would be advantageous. If DSDM was not used, the candidate will be expected to compare DSDM to the agile approach used, demonstrating his/her DSDM knowledge, both in the project synopsis and during the oral exam.
The required 12 months practical DSDM/agile project experience can be included within the two years systems development experience.
